From Cultural Disconnection to Design Calling
Bridging Tradition with Luxury
Growing up in Hyderabad, I was surrounded by incredible creativity. My grandmother created large-scale tapestries—scenes from mythology, women dancing, natural landscapes that seemed to breathe life into our home. She embroidered silk sarees with intricate Zardozi work, gifting them to relatives, nieces, and friends across our extended family.

My mother carried this creative spirit forward in her own remarkable way. I still vividly remember the custom drapes she commissioned when I was in middle school—raw silk fabric hand-block printed with colorful peacocks, stitched to measure for our floor-to-ceiling windows. When she oversaw the construction of our family home, she chose a temple-style entrance door and windows with intricate details I've yet to see replicated anywhere in my travels. The CNC interior doors and backlit false ceilings she designed were so ahead of their time, they still inspire me today.

When I moved to the United States and later bought my first home, I discovered something disheartening: no designer understood the cultural nuance I was seeking. They either suggested generic "Indian" themes that felt foreign to my actual heritage, or dismissed cultural elements entirely in favor of trending styles.

That disappointment became my calling.

Bridging Heritage and Expertise
My Professional Journey
I've spent my entire professional life immersed in the family natural stone business, learning quality distinctions and sourcing secrets that most designers never encounter.
This decade of hands-on experience, combined with formal training at the Interior Design Institute and specialized Design and Color certifications with renowned designer Maria Killam, gives me a unique perspective on creating investment-grade spaces.

But my real education came from designing my own home—particularly my living room and lounge area, which became the testing ground for what I now call my French chic elevation technique.
The custom travertine coffee table I designed for our living room perfectly captures this approach: sophisticated, contemporary, yet deeply rooted in the natural stone mastery passed down through generations.

More Than Design—Cultural Connection
Bridging Your Origins With Your Present
I understand the unique position of successful Indian expats. You've achieved remarkable success in demanding careers, yet something feels missing when you walk into homes that could belong to anyone, anywhere. You want spaces that reflect your journey—representing and honoring where you came from while celebrating who you've become.

Whether you're from Mumbai or Chennai, whether you celebrate Diwali with elaborate traditions or intimate family gatherings, whether your children are learning Telugu or Tamil—I see you. I understand the delicate balance between honoring parents' expectations and living your own contemporary life.

This understanding, combined with technical expertise and design sophistication, is why busy professionals from Seattle to Vancouver trust me with their most personal spaces.
